I'm so torn -- need your input!

what should I do with my hair?

15(40.5%)
get a fauxhawk! (still with the violet at the front)
22(59.5%)

it's grown out about an inch since these two but I'd be getting it cut to the same length again:

I adore the fauxhawk look! So bold~~ And if it doesn't work out, you can grow your hair back out! But I reckon you'll look very cute~

I am not a fauxhawk fan at all, and think your current haircut flatters you.

I think the fauxhawk would be absolutely gorgeous on you--but whatever you do, you'll look lovely~ <3

I'm always torn by crowdsourcing-my-look polls. I've not ticked either box because both are adorable cuts and I think you could wear either well.

The fauxhawk suggests a fierce, sparky attitude to me (mosh pits at punk shows. It's illogical, but there's my associations), and while I could see that as one of your facets, I wonder how the fauxhawk would look un-poufed. Would it fit your gentler moods?

(honestly, in the pictures, the pixie cut from the bottom three makes me coo most. Probably because it reminds me of ladies from Julian Mandel photos; the "transgressive" hair of a bygone era.)

So I guess...whichever way you feel like going. But pix or it didn't happen. ;D

I'm the same way on those sorts of polls, at least for semi-major things like a several-inch haircut. I sometimes ask general opinions on what color I should dye my hair next, but that changes every month, so it's not a major investment.

Also, as a fauxhawk sporter who's never been in a mosh pit at a punk show, that amuses me greatly. :-)

Like I said: illogical. ~wry grin~

Your hair right now is very cute, and generally I personally am not super into fauxhawks. BUT, I definitely believe in not getting overly attached to hair and in taking risks. So if you want a fauxhawk, I think you should go for it!

my real vote was you do what you want, but that wasn't a choice, so i picked what i liked best, but you should still totally do what works best for you

hair...
I highly recommend doing the short-funky hair thing at least once (or more). There is so much fun sculpt-y things you can do to it!

Short hair works well on you, so I could see the faux-hawk working out awesomely! In the end, though, go with what makes you feel confident, happy, and full of smiles. :)

Even though your current long in the front short in the back is one of my very favourite hairstyles for straight-ish hair and looks awesome on you, I'm going to vote for faux-hawk. I find them really cute and it seems like it would be fun to experience even just for a while and an interesting change. To me they say energy, fire, boldness but also direction and centered-ness?

The one you have now seems to have a grace and sharp intelligence vibe to it, probably the clean lines :-) Basically I'm pretty torn because I love both hairstyles.

It's Summer. It's hot. You are looking for something new and fun to try out. It would also be comfortable to have shorter hair.

You look lovely no matter what you do to your hair. I think the fauxhawk is super cute and I think that it reflects that spark in your personality that is so awesome.

I'm uncertain if you remember when I first took the plunge to cut my hair supershort and wear it in a fauxhawk style. I talked about it a little bit when it was first done, but never really delved in deeply to my reasoning behind it and the reactions I received as a result of it. The strongest reaction of course came from my mother, who asked me flat-out why I wanted to look like a "butch dyke" and a "man." Most everyone else I met responded very well to my choice, but my mom couldn't really deal with the fact that her long-haired young daughter had chosen something that she viewed as so completely masculine.

To be honest, I loved it when she said that to me though. There was an intense sense of freedom which came with expressing myself as outside the gender binary. Of course I'm afraid that I always look a bit cisgender with my large chest and tendency to dress "feminine," but it felt so good to be able to throw on an oversized sweatshirt and baggy pants and have people triple-check me out to make sure their assumptions were correct. I positively adored finally being able to express myself in a light that wasn't so stereotypically "feminine." And you know what, to be perfectly honest, I think I looked pretty damn hot.

In the end it comes down to what you're most comfortable with and what kind of statement you are trying to make or lines you are wanting to explore with your own identity. You've had short hair before, so you know how you felt in that skin and wearing that identity before. Are you ready and wanting to do that again? If so, give it a chance! It's always fun for a new perspective. Hair is one of the easiest things in the world to change to suit your pleasure, so why not?

Oh, and just for fun? I'm SURE you've seen these pictures before, but:

ooh. to be honest here, i really really like your hair right now! ♥ but i know you will find the one you want soon! it's just so hard to pick just one. i know you will look GREAT in either one! :)

I quite like both cuts, but I can tell you that when I had my mohawk (which was completely shaved on the sides)strangers would approach me and want to touch my head, much like people do with pregnant women's bellies. I loved it, though I only had it a few months before completely bic-ing it, so it may have gotten old after awhile. It's certainly an interesting means of meeting people, and I'd imagine the fauxhawk would have much the same response.

the faux hawk! It can always grow back if you decide you hate it, AND it looks as though it'd look AWESOME on you. :)
emotionalspazz ══╣╠══
The fauxhawk is nice, but I like your hair the way it is right now :3

I'm doing the fauxhawk right now (it's about an inch longer than it was in this photo):

I do mine a bit more meticulously than what you're considering, though. For the way I do it, it's very easy to style, which is always a major plus. I can't comment on a more tousled one, though--it may be a pain in the ass to do every day, and you might end up leaving it down a lot. I do mine daily, but like I said, a neatly combed one is pretty easy.

All that being said, I freaking love my hair right now (and have never gotten so many positive comments in my life) and generally think fauxhawks are awesome.
chillychilly22 ══╣╠══
Hmm... you can always do the fauxhawk and then grow it out to the other haircut. So you get to do both!
kschap ══╣╠══
I think you should ultimately do what you want to do (and I'm sure you will), but my opinion is that the fauxhawk would look amazing on you! You'd look spunky and sexy, methinks. *nod*
deleon ══╣╠══
I like your hair like it is now.
sidheblessed ══╣╠══
I love your hair as it is now but think you could totally pull off a fauxhawk.
kmiotutsie ══╣╠══
aww, shoutouts yey!! i like your longish purple hair, it suits you. at the same time, change is lots of fun... fauxhawks are kind of high maintenance; you have to spray them all the time and they don't look as cute (imo) when they're all floppy. i think it would be fun to see where your hair goes from here if you let it go, but you could probably guess that would be how i'd feel about hair, hehe ;)
