I bought a CD on a whim at the used CD store -- everytime I do a music search for stuff I like, Olive pops up as a recommendation, so when I saw it for $6, I figured I should give them a try. I'm addicted!!! Ben's sick of hearing the CD already. They're completely unique, yet they remind me of Flunk and the Cranberries and a little bit of Kosheen! It's as if someone blended all the electronica/acid jazz I like and smoothed/simplified it. So wonderful.
And one of their songs made me think of hannah instantly, and even though I know she can't hear me, I keep singing it to her every time it comes around.
You're Not Alone
In a way, it's all a matter of time
I will not worry for you, you'll be just fine
Take my thoughts with you, and when you look behind,
you will surely see a face that you recognize
You're not alone, I'll wait till the end of time
Open your mind, Surely it's plain to see
You're not alone, I'll wait till the end of time for you
Open your mind, Surely there's time to be with me
It is the distance that makes life a little hard
Two minds that (are so) close, (yet) so many miles apart
I will not falter though, I'll hold on till you're home
Safely back where you belong, And see how our love has grown
For anyone else who is interested in electronica (Vee and Nea, I'm sure you'll both love (or at least like) this, if you aren't fans already), here are my other favorites (though I love the whole CD!):
Blood Red Tears
Falling -- Aubrey, I think you'd love this one, it's dreamy and very autumnal.
