tattoo plans, hopes, & maybes

tattoos I want, divided by certainty and then put in the order I want to get them:

the back of my right wrist:
the words "gender / abolitionist" (slashes are line breaks)

the back of my left wrist:
the words "radical / equalist" (slashes are line breaks)

right deltoid:
a black-outlined Quaker 8-pointed star as a 4-point over a 4-point, with a black eye of Horus in the center. The top, diagonal 4-point would have swirls of color from each point, circling around the eye -- green from NW, red from NE, blue from SE, violet from SW. On the bottom, perpendicular star arms would be symbols: a violet feather for openness/honesty on the north, a blue equals sign for equality on the west, a green ankh for reverence on the east, and a red tree for love/interconnectedness on the south. like this, only not sketchy and badly drawn:

(yeah, that is supposed to be a tree :-( it's tragic that I cannot draw them for shit)

front right shoulder:
the words "bite the sun" stacked, slanting diagonally towards my sternum

front left shoulder:
the words "share the day" stacked, slanting diagonally towards my sternum

left deltoid/shoulder/arm:
a cluster of five-pointed stars of various colors, each star representing a person who has made an impact on my life and the size of each star representing the depth of the impact.

on my back, 2 inches below the shoulder line in the center:
a sheela-na-gig who looks half plant and has a figure similar to mine (except the exaggerated vulva of course). Open eyes looking straight ahead, either with solemn expression or with a smile revealing feline teeth, head tilted down just a little. Skin patterned like leaf veins, no hair.

tree tattoo with realistic bark and abstract green for leaves, with visible roots going down my butt and water around the roots. sorta like this

center chest, just below collarbone:
Ka symbol (not sure if I want anything in the center of my chest but that's the only place I'd want it)

on my back, top center just below the neck, in a curve:
the words "all life is magic / all living beings deserve equal respect"

left side of my neck (behind/below my ear) beside the hairline:
a mottled-rainbow heart with an infinity sign woven through it

Also I want a tattoo of Renenutet (possibly on a shoulderblade) and symbols for Nuit and Geb and Jesus, possibly others.

somewhere, I want a waterstar, but I'm not sure where or how large:

such awesome tattoo ideas with such personal meaning!

i have a set of five, five-pointed stars on my left calf with the color of the birth stone for my maternal great-grandmother (who died when i was 19 at 98 years old), my maternal grandmother, my mom, my little sister, and myself. your tattoo idea reminds me of that a little bit. :-)

wow, you have so many ideas! I love the drawing that you did- you clearly have given it a lot of thought, and seriously I have given much, much worse drawings to tattoo artists before. I draw super tragically, so much that whenever I try to draw something to illustrate a point in my classes, my students audibly groan :)

also, i´ve never heard of sheela-na-gigs before and I am going to have to research that! It says on your link that there are some in Spain so during my remaining time here and on visits to England I really want to go see some examples. Thanks for sharing!

I absolutely love your sketch! I can't wait to see it tattooed! :)

I admit in hindsight that your tree looks a bit like a cauliflower, but at least I knew what it was supposed to be! That's a really neat design, I'm excited to see it in-the-flesh. Literally! Hah.

This post made me think, as I have several tattoos planned as well. I might make a post just like this!

i love how all of your tattoos have personal meanings to you. they stand exactly for what you believe in and to me, that's a beautiful thing! ♥

I love your ideas! The Quaker 8-point star is such a beautiful plan; I hope you get to see it to fruition~ <3

Also, that waterstar is gorgeous! Such organic beauty. :)

I love the colour swirls in the star! Really really love. Do you have body paints, have you tried any of these on? Thinking size wise - better idea of how big you'd want the designs. Also, have you planned a font for the word ones? Or have a sort of idea, anyway?

I was wondering whether there was any reason for putting the particular symbols on particular compass points, or whether it was purely aesthetic?

Waterstars are pretty. I'll have to look those up. Maybe I'll get that for my wrist tattoo.

Your tattoo ideas are really cool. I especially love the tree one for your back; you should totally get that!

Oh, I thought the purple feather was a penis at first... I have something on my mind, lol.

P.S. If you do an image search for tree tattoo back you get some pretty breathtakingly beautiful ones! I think if I ever got tattoos I would want something big, all up my side or back. Given my dislike of needles I'm not sure I could do it though! Mind you, they aren't like syringes, the thought doesn't fill me with horror.

That sketch is stunning! And such a lovely idea infused with such meaning. It's so _you_. I also adore the "bite the sun" tattoo concept. Tattoos in general actually...just *swoon*.

The violet feather looks like a dildo, but I love the concept of the tat. It will look awesome.

Words are difficult. They need to be pretty large so that they don't blur over time and you need an artist with skills, not just a general tattoo artist in order to get them right. with that being said, I can see how the words you've selected fit you and your goals for life.

I so loved this post. Thank you for sharing your plans/hopes :-)

Everything you mentioned sounds like it would fit you/express you wonderfully but am especially in love with the 8-pointed star because I can see it and I love what it stands for, I LOVE it :-) Just wondering, what the blue in the star means to you? I know the other colours are what you see as your spirit colours and I just wondered if turquoise was also? :-) I think I've said so before but I love the idea of the cluster of stars for people who've impacted you as well.
